May 31、twenty people from the Aiai Studio / Hand Weaving Study Group in Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture, took a tour of the process of Kokura Stripes at the Yuh Textile Studio.

During Milan Design Week 2016, hand-woven Kokura Stripes and SHIMA-SHIMA textiles will be shown at "INTERNI OPEN BORDERS 2016". The location is at Statale (Università degli Studi di Milano), one of the most important FuoriSalone locations.
Textile artist Noriko Tsuiki and architect Naoyuki Shirakawa have collaborated to create a group of art installations in the tradition of Japanese aesthetics, using Kokura Stripes. The installations are situated in a 15th century Italian building, which was commissioned by the Sforza, a noble family that ruled Milan.
This year commemorates the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Italy. We look forward to seeing you at the event.
